Campsite cancellation alerts for booked-up sites

Popular campsites sell out months ahead, then people cancel. We're building a bot that will watch the dates you want and tell you the moment a spot opens, so you can book it yourself.

Who it's for

Built for

  • Campers chasing a sold-out park or weekend
  • Families planning around school breaks
  • Anyone tired of refreshing a reservation page
  • People who want a specific loop, site or date range
The problem

Why this bot

Cancellations happen all the time, but they are not announced. A site frees up at 2 in the afternoon on a Tuesday and is gone again within the hour, booked by whoever happened to be looking.

Checking by hand works only if you check constantly. Most people give up, or they sit on the page hitting refresh. The opening is real; the hard part is seeing it in time.

How it will work

Three steps

  1. Tell it what you want

Pick the campground or reservation, your dates, and any must-haves like site type or number of nights.

  2. It watches for openings

The bot is planned to check availability at a polite, steady pace and compare it with what you asked for.

  3. You get the alert and book

When something matches, it will send a text, email or Discord message with a link. You open it and complete the booking yourself.

Details

What it will not do

It will not book for you, hold sites, or get around a booking site's queue or limits. Automated booking is against the rules of most reservation systems, and we want your account to stay in good standing. The bot alerts; you book.

Limits

An alert does not mean you will get the site. Other people see the same openings, so a spot can be gone by the time you click. Faster alerts help, but nobody can promise you the site.

Still deciding

Which booking sites we support first, how often each one can be checked within its rules, and how many watches each person gets. Early access members will help shape this.

FAQ

Questions people ask

How do I get alerts when a campsite opens up?

You can check the booking page by hand, or use an alert tool that watches it for you. This bot is being built to do the watching and send you a text, email or Discord message when your dates open. It is not available yet; joining early access puts you on the list.

Does recreation.gov have availability alerts?

Some booking systems offer limited notify or lottery features, but coverage varies by park and they may not match the exact dates or sites you want. A dedicated watcher can be more specific. Check the official site first, since its rules come before any outside tool.

Will the bot book the campsite for me?

No. It is planned to alert only. Auto-booking breaks the terms of most reservation sites and can get accounts banned, so you will always make the booking yourself.

How often do campsite cancellations happen?

It depends on the park, the season and the cancellation policy. Busy parks see changes every day, often close to the date when people's plans change. We will not quote numbers we have not measured.

Is it allowed to use a bot to check campsite availability?

Rules differ by site. We plan to check at a modest pace, read only public availability, and never book, hold or bypass anything. If a site does not allow automated checking, we will not support it.
